Gregg Davidson, Mayor

Gregg and his wife Marianne chose to move their family to Mapleton in 2006 after having visited the community for many years.  For much of his adult life Gregg has been serving and helping people in roles such as business leader, police constable, and volunteer.  Gregg is a team leader known for his tireless work ethic, honesty and compassion for people.  As Mapleton’s Mayor, Gregg works with Council and staff to create a community that attracts business, creates jobs and one which all residents are proud to call home. 

Everybody matters or nobody matters.

Amanda Reid, Councillor

Amanda and her husband Mark have lived in Alma since 2016 with their two children. Amanda works as a Home Daycare Provider. Amanda is reliable, honest, and community minded. She is a proud member of the Alma Optimist Club, while also being a volunteer for the Alma Community Recreation Association (ACRA) as well as the Alma Community Center Hall Committee. Amanda is proud to serve Mapleton Township as Councillor. She is passionate in making Mapleton a great place to work, visit and to live/raise a family.

Martin Tamlyn, Councillor

Martin and his wife Cathy (a midwife in our community) have lived in Mapleton Township for the past 22 years and have 3 children aged 19,16, and 6. Martin is an occasional teacher for local elementary schools and leads an outdoor education program for grades 3-8. Having committed much of his working life to community building and environmental projects in the region, he will offer his knowledge and broad experience to the decision-making process.

Michael Martin, Councillor

Mike is returning to Mapleton Council for his third term as Councillor. Mike, Carly and their two boys are proud to call Moorefield home since 2011. Mike works as an Operations Commander for the Region of Waterloo Paramedic Services. Councillor Martin has served on the Parks and Recreation Committee, Active Transportation Committee and the local chapter of Safe Communities. He lists the challenges of local growth, levels of service and engagement as key priorities moving into this term of Council.

Marlene Ottens, Councillor

Marlene Ottens lives on a broiler and cash crop farm on the 6th line with her husband John. They have four children and seven grandchildren, who mostly also live in Mapleton. Marlene is eager and proud to serve another term as councillor, helping to make Mapleton a great place to live for current residents and for future generations.
