Sidewalk Repair Program 

Current Phase: Completed

The Sidewalk Repair Program aims to address the maintenance and improvement of sidewalks throughout the Township. The program is essential for ensuring safety and accessibility for pedestrians. New sidewalks are installed at 1.5m width to meet AODA. 

  • In 2025 over 790m of sidewalks were replaced throughout the Urban Centres of Drayton and Alma, including sections of 
    • Edward St., Drayton 
    • Wood St., Drayton
    • Peel St. W., Alma

Hot Mix Paving

Current Phase: In Progress

This is an annual program to repair, replace or reconstruct existing road network segments with hot mix asphalt to maintain adequate high class bituminous (HCB) surface road assets. Road networks include:

  • Sideroad 15 (WR 8 to Conc 12)
  • Sideroad 15 (Conc 5 to Hollen Road)
  • Sideroad 15 (Hollen Road to Conc 6)
  • Sideroad 16 (WR 8 to 1.097Km N. of WR 8)
  • Concession 6 (1.094Km E. of SR 15 to Leslie Lane)
  • Con 5 (SR15 - WR10)

Facility Painting

Current Phase: Completed

  • Drayton Fire Hall 
  • Moorefield Fire Hall
  • PMD Arena 

Bridge Rehabilitation

Current Phase: Construction

Bridge / Culvert rehabilitations and replacements are significant infrastructure investments aimed at repairing or replacing aging, deteriorating, or inadequate bridges. Program timing is based upon legislative inspections under the OSIM program. 

  • Sideroad 16 - South of Wellington Road 8 - This project is considered a minor rehabilitation with concrete repairs.
  • Concession 4 - Just east of Sideroad 3 - This project is considered a minor rehabilitation with concrete repairs.

Culvert Replacement

Current Phase: Completed

  • Sideroad 15 (3km South of Concession 6) 

Fleet Replacement

The Township’s fleet replacement program follows best practices by replacing fleet based on condition assessments, rather than age. As part of the Township’s broader asset management program, the Township will be formalizing a fleet replacement strategy to ensure consistency across all service areas. 

  • Replacement of a Tandem axle dump truck
  • Replacement of a 1-Ton pickup truck
  • Replacement of a ¾ Ton Pickup Truck

 

Drayton Entrance Signage

Current Phase: In Progress 

Signage will be removed for a few weeks while work is being completed on the bases before new signage is installed

Kinette Playground Equipment

Current Phase: In Progress

The Playground located by Diamond “B” at the Drayton ball diamonds is set to be replaced in 2025 through funding from the Drayton Kinettes. This project is supported through the Township of Mapleton Parks and Recreation 50/50 Funding
