Senior Services
The Township of Mapleton has an active and vibrant seniors population that enjoys and benefits from a wide array of activities, programs and services. This includes:
- The Seniors' Centre for Excellence: Coordinates support services and programs to enable seniors to remain in their homes for longer periods of time.
- The County of Wellington: Offers tax relief for low income seniors.
- The Ministry of Seniors Affairs: Supports, develops and delivers public services to improve the quality of life for seniors and helps them lead safe, engaged, active and healthy lives.
- Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC): Publishes useful information for seniors and caregivers living in Canada.

Senior's Tax Rebate
County of Wellington Tax Rebate
The County of Wellington offers a tax relief program for low-income seniors and low-income persons with disabilities. The intent of this program is to provide a mechanism to assist those least able to pay a significant increase in taxes due to a reassessment. Applications must be received by the first of November of the taxation year in which the relief is being requested. Ontario Senior Homeowners' Property Tax Grant
In addition to the tax rebate offered by the County, the Province provides a grant to help low income seniors with the cost of their property taxes. For more information on the Ontario Senior Homeowners' Property Tax Grant program, please visit the Ontario Ministry of Finance website.
