Seniors' Centre for Excellence

The Seniors' Centre for Excellence (SCE) was established in 2008. The Centre coordinates support services and programs to empower seniors to remain in their homes. Recognizing the overall positive impact of socializing, we strive to support and promote an active, connected, and engaged lifestyle.  Located on the lower level of the Mapleton Community Health Centre, the Seniors' Centre offers services in the Township of Mapleton (lead municipality), the Town of Minto, and the Township of Wellington North. It is funded by the Ontario Health Integration Network.

Our fully accessible facility welcomes adults, 55 years of age and older, to participate in various Social Programs and Exercise Opportunities in North & Central Wellington. The Centre also connects seniors and their caregivers with a variety of home care, personal support, and community services available in our area. Please visit our Home Care Services page for more information.

The Centre operates according to a Multi-Sector Accountability Agreement. This document is an accountability agreement that outlines the role and performance expectations of health service providers.

Each month, the Centre creates and publishes a newsletter - Heart & Soul of Wellington, which includes a calendar of upcoming events for the month.  Contact us to reserve your seat at one of our luncheons or to register for any of our entertaining weekly Zoom presentations. Take a look at our latest Activities & Events for Older Adults publication to find out where and when you can drop in at a local coffee group or even find out where you can join Bridge, Euchre, or Shuffleboard groups, to mention a few.  Would you like to volunteer your time and talents?  Find some opportunities in our latest Volunteer Opportunities for Older Adults publication.
