There are a variety of home care, personal support, and community services available to seniors living in the Township of Mapleton. Please open the VON menu below for a list of services available.  You do not need a doctor to refer you to any of the services.

Victorian Order of Nurses (VON)

The Victorian Order of Nurses (VON) is Canada's largest, national, not-for-profit, charitable home and community care organization. They offer personal support and community services to enhance each client's quality of life. They provide clients with the personal assistance and the support needed to make them comfortable in their own homes.

Meals on Wheels

The Victorian Order of Nurses (VON) offers a Meals on Wheels program.  Volunteers deliver nourishing, hot meals which include soup, main course, and dessert, to people unable to cook or shop for themselves.  Frozen meals are also available.  For more information, please call 519-323-2330.

Transportation

The Victorian Order of Nurses (VON) provides seniors and adults with disabilities transportation to medical appointments, grocery shopping, adult day programs, and other appointments.   Please note that you have to register for this service at least three days in advance.  The length of your trip will be used to calculate the cost.  For more information, please call 519-323-2330.

House cleaning

The Victorian Order of Nurses (VON) provides house cleaning services for seniors and adults with disabilities.  The cost for this program is $20 per hour, with a two-hour minimum that you pay to the cleaner at the time of the service.  For more information, please call 519-323-2330.

Seniors Support Worker

The Victorian Order of Nurses (VON) provides short-term support for seniors and adults with disabilities. They can help you to complete forms, find the services you need, go with you to medical appointments, help you pick up medications or groceries, and provide you with medication reminders.  For more information, please call 519-323-2330.

Volunteer Visiting

Trained volunteers at the Victorian Order of Nurses (VON) provide companionship and personal assistance to isolated seniors or adults with chronic illnesses or disabilities.  Volunteers are matched with clients following a client needs and interest assessment by a health professional.  For more information, please call 519-323-2330.

Telephone Reassurance

The Victorian Order of Nurses (VON) offers a Telephone Reassurance program.  This service acts as both a regular telephone security check and an opportunity to reduce social isolation.  For more information, please call 519-323-2330.
