The Township of Mapleton's Fire/ Rescue Emergency Response team provides fire suppression, medical aid, auto extrication, water rescue and confined space rescue. Our Department takes pride in protecting the community from fire, life-threatening emergencies and dangerous conditions. We also provide fire safety education. Our team includes a full time fire chief, part-time fire prevention officer and 45 volunteer firefighters from within our community. We have a full fleet of rescue vehicles and two fire halls:

Alarms and Detectors
Carbon Monoxide Detectors
The Fire Chief has authority to enforce the Fire Code within the Township of Mapleton. You can check with the Ontario Fire Code and Ontario Building Code to see if your residence or building needs to have a carbon monoxide detector. Smoke Alarms/Detectors
You must have a working smoke alarm on every floor and outside of all sleeping areas. For more information on smoke alarms, please visit the Ontario Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services Website.
Burn Notification
You can obtain a free burn notification by completing and submitting a burn notification form. Burn notification forms are required for fires are over 2 meters x 2 meters. You need to provide a minimum of 24 hours notice to burn, as per our Open Air Burning By-law 2015-067.
Completed forms may be submitted in the following ways:

Campfire Information

Green Flashing Light
When you see the green flashing light, our volunteer fire fighters are responding to an emergency call. Please give them the right-of-way, pull to the right of the road, and allow them to pass safely.
Inspections
To book your fire inspection, please call the Township of Mapleton at 519-638-3313. There may be a fee depending on the type of inspection requested.
Response Area
The Township of Mapleton's Fire Departments service over 534 square km and 10,000+ residents. They have service agreements with the Township of Wellington North, Township of Centre Wellington, Woolwich Township and Wellesley Township.

This is an alternative water supply for public fire protection for residences that are more than 300 m (1,000 ft) from a fire hydrant and within 8 km (5 miles) of a fire station. You are encouraged to provide a copy of our certification to your Insurance Company or Broker as you may be eligible for a reduction in your fire insurance rates
