At its September 24, 2024 meeting, the Township of Mapleton Council accepted the resignation of Councillor Martin Tamlyn, effective September 30. Martin has accepted a role as Climate Change Coordinator for Centre Wellington and Mapleton.

Elected in 2022, Martin championed sustainability initiatives, including the Mapleton Environmental Advisory Committee and green infrastructure projects.

Mayor Gregg Davidson and CAO Manny Baron thanked him for his dedicated service. Council will announce plans to fill the vacant position soon.
