Fire Chief Lifts Burn Ban July 13, 2020

Updated

Effective Monday July 13th, 2020, the Township of Mapleton Fire Chief has lifted the open-air burn ban that was issued on July 6, 2020 due to weekend rainfall and forecasted conditions. As of Monday July 13th, the township will start receiving open-air burn notifications.

The Fire Department wishes to thank the community for their patience and assistance in keeping our residents safe. We still encourage safe methods of burning and the Township regulations still apply.

Open-Air Burn Notifications are required for any fire over 2 meters x 2 meters, without a Burn Notification the Fire Department reserves the right to charge property owners at the current MTO rate if called out to their burn. Notifications must be submitted before 4pm the day before burning, and an approval email or call must be received before you begin to burn.
