Who’s ready to take a stroll down Memory Lane?

Remember those Three R’s—Reading, Writing, ‘Rithmetic? If you are able to join us on June 10, we’ll be tackling a different kind of Three R’s—Remembering, Reflecting, and Reminiscing about our days, weeks, months, and years at Norwell District Secondary School.

Our plans are to meet at the Harriston Legion 79 Elora St. N, Harriston on June 10. So far, we have 112 people who have indicated they don’t want to miss it! Can we count you in?

Here’s a brief overview of what to expect:

10:00 am

The Harriston Historical Society invites you to join them at the Harriston library so you can begin that walk down Memory Lane. Enter from the parking lot and take the elevator to the 3rd floor then be prepared for the festivities to begin as you are reminded of bygone days.

11:00 am

Head to the Legion and meet up with old friends. Please enter via the parking lot and make sure you pick up your pre-written name tag (some of us might have changed a bit over the years.) Then proceed to the table filled with tasty nibbles and as you do, try to locate someone you recognize. Feel free to read name tags!

Garry MacDougall will have a number of his albums for you to enjoy. You do remember Garry?

Official Welcome by Neil Aitchison

Mary Jo (Dixon) Patterson will invite us to remember those who have gone before us.

We will say grace followed by a catered buffet lunch.

After lunch we have the privilege of listening to some oldies but goodies as Neil will introduce Jim Henderson and his music

3:00 pm

A time to say your final farewells and take your last pictures*

*If you wish to continue visiting, you are invited to Mary Jean’s. We’ll fill you in later about that part!

Please let us know as soon as you can of your intention. We sure hope you can make it. It just wouldn’t be the same without you.

Oh, and one more thing…studies have shown that those who are initially hesitant about attending their high school reunions, discover later, that it was “The Event” that they should never have missed! Don’t be that person who will live to regret it.
