Celebrating Drayton in 2025: The Journey Behind the Book

  1. October 3, 2025 @ 10:30 am

Step into the heart of Drayton’s past and present and get ready to delve into how the book, Celebrating Drayton in 2025, became a reality.

Local author, Glynis Belec, along with Pillars of the Project, Karen Smart (Stanners) and Liz Samis, invite the community, history enthusiasts, and even aspiring writers to explore the process behind the creation of the most recent history book, Celebrating Drayton in 2025.

Every book has a beginning, but history books are born from a shared longing to remember, honour, and preserve. Glynis has attempted to make this book more than a mere recounting of events. With the help of her fabulous team and input from the community, it has turned out to be a tapestry woven with local memories, spirited teamwork, and the determination to capture the essence of a beloved town.

Through “Celebrating Drayton,” we hope to remind readers that history is not merely about dates and documents—it is about spirit, struggle, and celebration. It is about honouring the everyday triumphs and tribulations that make a community unique.

Learn firsthand about the creative process, the collaborations, and the lessons learned. There will be opportunities for questions, interactions, and shared reflections—come join Glynis, Karen, and Liz at 10:30 am at the PMD Arena Meeting Room on Friday, October 3, 2025.
