Current Projects

Each year, the Township's invests an average of $8 million into infrastructure and assets to serve the community service level needs. 

The content below details the relevant information for ongoing projects throughout the Township.

Projects identified in blue are completed, orange in progress and green are under review. Each project is outlined in greater detail below.

Current Phase: UNDER REVIEW

The asphalt patching program is designed to address and repair damaged asphalt surfaces throughout the This project involves the acquisition of high-pressure air bag systems for the Fire Department to support vehicle extrication and heavy lifting operations during rescue incidents.

A multi-faceted program to support evidence-based decision-making on municipal infrastructure investments. The 2026 program includes a comprehensive update to GIS data, and bridge and culvert inspections.

The tools will provide greater mobility, reduce setup time, and eliminate the need for external power sources, improving safety and effectiveness during fire suppression, vehicle extrication, and rescue operations.

Bridge / Culvert rehabilitations and replacements are significant infrastructure investments aimed at repairing or replacing aging, deteriorating, or inadequate bridges. Program timing is based upon legislative inspections under the OSIM program. 

  • Structure MB002 - Sideroad 6 - South of Highway 109 - This project encompasses the replacement of Bridge MB002 located on Sideroad 6, South of Highway 109. The structure was identified to be in poor condition (OSIM 2024). 
    • Investment - $1,650,000
  • Structure PB057 - Sideroad 18 - North of 8th Line - Replacement of structure PB057 located on Sideroad 18, north of 8th Line. The structure was identified for replacement due to poor condition (OSIM 2024). BCI = 27
    • Investment - $211,800
  • Structure PB022 - 4th Line - East of Wellington Road 11 - Program timing is based upon legislative inspections under the OSIM program (2024). This project is considered a major rehabilitation. Includes concrete repairs and repairs to the deck top.
    • Investment - $455,000
  • Structure PB008 - Side Road 16 - North of 14th Line - Program timing is based upon legislative inspections under the OSIM program (2024). This project is considered a minor rehabilitation including concrete repairs and removal of excess fill over structure
    • Investment - $325,000
  • Structure PB049 - Concession 16 - West of Wellington Road 11 - Program timing is based upon legislative inspections under the OSIM program (2024). This project is considered a minor rehabilitation.
    • Investment - $95,000
  • Structure MB013 - Sideroad 6 - North of Concession 4 - Program timing is based upon legislative inspections under the OSIM program (2024). This project is considered a minor rehabilitation.
    • Investment - $185,000
  • Structure PB002 - 16th Line - First Bridge East of Wellington Road 11 - Program timing is based upon legislative inspections under the OSIM program (2024). This project is considered a minor rehabilitation. Includes concrete repairs to deck and barrier to extend useful life of structure within 1 to 5 years; some maintenance work required.
    • Investment - $470,000
  • Structure PB004 - 16th Line - Third Bridge East of Wellington Road 11 - Program timing is based upon legislative inspections under the OSIM program (2024). This project is considered a minor rehabilitation. Includes resealing barrier joints to extend useful life of structure within 1 to 5 years; some maintenance work required.
    • Investment - $355,000
  • Structure PB012 - 12th Line - East of Wellington Road 11 - Structure in overall good condition but concrete repairs are recommended within 1 to 5 years based on OSIM-2024. Includes rehabilitation with waterproofing and asphalt overlay.
    • Investment - $505,000

The Centennial Park shelter was identified for replacement in 2026 through the building condition assessment (BCA).

Installation of new lighting at the Drayton Ball Diamonds to improve visibility, safety, and usability during evening games and community events. The project will enhance recreational opportunities and extend facility use beyond daylight hours

This project involves surveying the driveway and burial sections within the Drayton Cemetery to support future planning, maintenance, and record accuracy. The survey will update section layouts, confirm plot boundaries, and assess driveway conditions to guide potential improvements and ensure proper management of cemetery assets.

Implementation of an updated ERP Accounting System (MuniSoft) to improve efficiency, accuracy, and transparency while supporting data-driven decision-making and compliance with accounting standards. The updated syste will clearly separate Mapleton and Northern Maple Utilities, and improve the customer experience with greater functionality and transparency.

  • PMD Arena

The Township will engage a third-party consultant with the goal to identify priorities and actionable items to ensure the efficiency, integrity and security of IT infrastructure across the organization.

The project encompasses the replacement of the rink and refrigeration system at the PMD arena including dasher boards, glass, vertical netting and staircase improvements. The objective is to modernize the facility to meet current standards, enhance energy efficiency and ensure long-term operational reliability. The project involves renovations to the commercial kitchen in Maryborough Community Centre including design, electrical work, plumbic & HVAC, new flooring, interior finishes. The project also included updates to existing Storage rooms.

This project provides tablets for the Fire Department to improve communication, incident reporting, and access to critical information while in the field. This will streamline operations and enhancing situational awareness during emergency response.

Acquisition of new pagers to improve communication and response times for firefighters. The devices will ensure reliable alerts during emergencies and enhance coordination across fire stations.

Project works being undertaken to improve the utilization of this facility as a centre for Parks Operations. 2025 works include window replacements, drainage repairs and network infrastructure improvements.

To maintain the integrity and efficiency of our network, it has been Township practice to upgrade and replace aging network infrastructure and individual workstations to keep systems running as optimally as possible and able to perform in an acceptable fashion with constant evolving technological requirements.

As part of the Township's efforts towards reducing greenhouse gas emissions and saving costs at large facilities, the Township is undertaking energy audits a municipal facilities. This works are funded in part by Enbridge and the Green Municipa Fund (GMF).

This project encompasses the construction of Conestoga Drive throughout the new Catholic School site connecting Smith Drive and Green Street.

This project involves upgrading the Township’s municipal website to improve functionality, accessibility, and user experience. The new website is being developed on the GovStack platform, from GHD Digital.
