Ontario Declares Second Provincial Emergency

Updated

Yesterday Doug Ford announced the Province is declaring a second provincial emergency to address the COVID-19 crisis and to save lives. Effective January 14th, 2021 at 12:01am the government is requiring everyone to stay home except for essential travel. They have also required that employees work from home except where necessary. “Each person responsible for a business or organization that is open shall ensure that any person who performs work for the business or organization conducts their work remotely, with limited exception, for instance, where the nature of their work requires them to be on-site at the workplace.”
The Township of Mapleton has ensured that public safety is their top priority throughout the entire COVID-19 pandemic, therefore, the Township of Mapleton administrative office will be completely closed to the public. Staff will be able to be reached through email and through the municipal phone system at 519-638-3313.
Residents who have any symptoms or concerns of COVID-19 are asked not to call 9-1-1, but instead to visit the Ontario governments self-assessment tool, contact Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health at 1-800-265-7293 ext. 7006 (after hours call 1-877-884-8653) or Telehealth Ontario at 1-866-797-0000.
