Building Department Update under Stay at Home order

Updated

The Government of Ontario has declared a state of emergency and issued a stay at home order. Stay at home except for essential travel and follow the restrictions and public health measures.
The new rules came into effect on Thursday, Jan. 14 at 12:01 a.m., for all of Ontario. They are anticipated to be in place for the next 28 days.
The Building Department will still be accepting building permit applications and issuing ALL building permits. Under the Enhancing Public Health and Workplace Safety Measures, only essential construction projects may continue and only these building inspections will continue.
1. All Building permit applications along with supporting documents may be submitted by email to myself – pwright@mapleton.ca. If you do not have access to a method of emailing building permit applications, there is a mail slot at the Municipal Office at 7275 Sideroad 16, Drayton ON that will be checked regularly.
2. To book building inspections we are asking that you give 48 hours notice where possible, and that you call the Building Department at (519) 638-3313 ex 029. We will be following Ontario’s health and safety guidelines for construction sites: construction site health and safety during covid-19
3. General property and building inquiries can also be directed to Amanda Walker awalker@mapleton.ca.
