DRAYTON WWTP EFFLUENT QUALITY MANAGEMENT
MUNICIPAL CLASS ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT (EA)

NOTICE OF PUBLIC INFORMATION CENTRE

The Township of Mapleton is studying the problem of meeting effluent quality requirements during approved discharge periods at the Drayton Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP).  These problems have resulted in suspensions of effluent discharge and subsequent emergency discharges in the past.  The Township has engaged in a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment to identify a preferred option for ensuring that wastewater effluent is consistently acceptable for discharge throughout the approved discharge periods.

This project has been planned as a Schedule B project under the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment.  A Public Information Centre has been scheduled to provide all interested parties with background information on the study, and to discuss the project.  The Public Information Centre will be held on:

Thursday, August 5, 2010, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
at the
Mapleton Township Municipal Offices - Council Chambers
7275 Sideroad 16, Drayton

Representatives from the Township of Mapleton and the consulting firm will be available at this Public Information Centre to discuss the project and answer questions.  Following the Public Information Centre further comments are invited for incorporation into the project file, and will be received until August 20, 2010.

If you wish to comment on the study or obtain additional information, please contact:
