Economic Development

The Township of Mapleton is home to many long-standing business success stories. Successful economic development is important for community growth, jobs and expansion. 

The Economic Development Coordinator works with the Township's Economic Development Committee in supporting the following initiatives:

  • Business retention and expansion
  • Support and encourage existing businesses
  • Economic development advertising and marketing
  • Service/Commercial/Industrial site selection 
  • Competitiveness issues, policy and programs
  • Job Prosperity Programs
  • Tourism

In 2013 and 2015, the Township of Mapleton participated in the County-wide Business Retention and Expansion Program to better understand our local businesses and how we can support their growth and longevity.

Summer Company:  If you're between 15 and 29 years old and going back to school full time in the fall - and you're committed and not afraid to work hard - then check out Summer Company. You could be your own boss with your own business!

Starter Company: You can apply to the Starter Company program if you’re an Ontario resident aged 18 to 29 and notattending school full time. To qualify for funding of up to $5,000, you need to be able to contribute at least 25 percent (in cash or in kind) of the grant amount, and have a complete business plan.

WOWSA - Women of Wellington-Saugeen Area

An educational Networking Opportunity for women in business within the Wellington-Saugeen Area
